A member of the Society of Illustrators with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, an MA from Syracuse University and an MFA from Hartford Art School, I am often asked if I plan to be a professional student.

The answer is “No” of course, but I am a student of Illustration as well as an instructor, writer* and practicing illustrator. After 25 years of illustration in 3D, Illustrator, Painter and anything else I could stuff into a computer, I have settled into painting digitally and in oil – on real paper! My primary interests are in portraits and imagery for children, but I also have successfully completed many editorial and advertising assignments. So, if you don’t know Jack, you will.

* Look for an article on illustrator Andrew Loomis in Illustration Magazine #21 and an upcoming book that I am co-authoring on vector illustration.
